In Scandinavia underfloor heating is usually found in the bathroom where is is great! With carpet and wooden floors, heating is supplied either be radiators or low-level warm air vents.

I wouldn't recommend underfloor heating under carpet as it would have to be both under the carpet and under what the carpet is laid on.

It is a monumental waste to have a heated floor underneath carpet. The pad acts as an insulater that trpas the heat beaneth the surface and doesnt allow it to rise. It also has the potential for drying out and dry rotting your carpet and pad. It is best suited for ceramic tile applications or bare concrete/stained & stamped concrete. Hope this helps.

Given that most carpet pads are a plastic/foam base, it doesn't sound like a good idea. Maybe research carpet pads to find one that won't melt. Happy hunting.

Yes it's fine, though marginally less efficient as the capet acts as an insulator.
It's a fabulous feeling on your bare feet, or on your bare body if you get laid in that room!
