for every 35,000 calorie deficit, you will lose a pound. that means cutting back on food and adding more exercise.

to answer your question, yes, you can lose some weight by jogging. but let's say you burned 400 calories by jogging. if you added and ate 400 calories worth of food, you will not lose anything.

Yes, but vary your program to see results faster, and ease into your program. If exercising is new to you, jogging 7 days a week can do more damage than good because your body will retain water and you'll feel and look heavier. Everyone says its because muscle weighs more than fat but it takes about 6 months to gain 5lbs of muscle so that change doesn't really happen for a while.

So I'd suggest jogging 1-3 miles 3 days a week, if you like to run, and then increase it one day at a time as it gets easier, and add a half a mile at a time to keep pushing your body to its limit.

On the days inbetween, try some other form of cardio exercise. When your muscles are challenged in different ways they have to work harder and you see results more quickly. So use it to find something else you enjoy just as much, take some different classes at the gym, or even just bike instead of jogging, go out dancing, run the stairs for 10 minutes(which is really intense), try some cardio machines at the gym, etc.

If you are consistent and continue to increase your workout and varry your workout as your body gets used to it, you will loose weight (barring any medical conditions).

Important factors that will increase results and speed results- be sure you don't re-consume the calories you burn. If you exercise daily and try to cut-out 300-500 calories of food a week you can loose a pound a week (3500 calores=1 lb).

Take one day off to let your body rest.

Drink 8-12 glasses of water. This will flush your system and keep you hydrated so you can get the most out of your workout.

Have fun!

I used to run 7 days a week and I'll have to warn you, the more you run, the more you eat, and the hungrier you'll be.

The rule is you have to run for at least 20 minutes before you deplete your carbohydrate supply and start burning extra calories. So you still need to eat carbs, but I wouldn't eat a ton of carbs.

Also if you're running 7 days a week one thing that will help you is WATER. You'll feel better while running and you will be able to run longer thus burning more calories. My old coach told us to drink a gallon of water before practice everyday. I think 1 gallon is too much (cause I'd always have to pee while in class) but I'd say 64 ounces before your run (if in the afternoon) or run before you eat anything in the morning.

Also make sure you do calisthenics before you run. This will help by making your body all over fit, and not just your legs.

You sure can... but only if its accompanied by a decreased caloric intake. It takes about 3000 calories a day to live.. breathe... and do everyday task depending on your body and physical activity. (Larger bodies require more, smaller less, more activity... etc..) Also another thing to take into account is muscles. Muscles may more then fat so don't be alarmed if you stay the same or even gain. You're most likely going to a certain figure anyways so keep that in mind. =o) By the way running for 2 miles burns about 300 or so calories.

you have to eat correctly, jog atleast 30 minutes and drink a lot of water and you really can start to drop weight really fast. you have to eat breakfast and 4-5 small meals a day and not 3 huge fatty ones! with a constant exercise program and good diet you can start loosing weight in 10 days or less!

Yes you can.
My sister lost 60 lbs. in half a year. She still jogs everyday, it gives you lots of energy and you feel great. After exercising/jogging/running your body releases endorphins which promote a mellow sense of well-being in addition to acting as a mild analgesic, so you get to feel and look great.
Good luck!
