I don't see how anyone could hate a scientist for what he does. Science, technology and medicine reach out to everyone.

In regards to the Bible, keep in mind that there is a "pick and choose" mentality associated with that religion that carries over to their acceptance or rejection of science.

Such people who do hate Scientist, often only hate the ones that they see as an immediate threat to their religion. They still like the ones that make discoveries that do not challenge their religion. Isn't strange that Evolution is only disputed by Theistic groups? Everyone else agrees with the Theory.... hmmmmm....

They don't hate the fruits of "science," as you call it, but the worldviews that the scientists hold.

I could pose an equal and opposite question much like yours: Why do people who hate on Christians (i.e. many people on this website and scientists) use the internet? Shouldn't they not believe in morals and free enterprise because it's not empirically verifiable?

Cell phones, cars, airplanes, etc. aren't exactly products of scientists, but of engineers, mechanics, and inventors.
