First, I'm constantly surprised at how people are so extreme in this view. Why is it that Science and Religion can't coexist, or even support each other? That's the stance I take and I never have to ask the question "Do I trust what I see or what I read?" because they both agree, it all comes down to interpretation.
Second, doing "miracles" or things that can't be explained has never been a reason for faith. The foundation of faith can't be anything less than pure individual connection to the Divine. If you said you believed simply because you saw someone predict something or whatever, that would be a weak faith and as soon as you are tested, you would fail. If it were that easy to have everyone believe, don't you think someone would have done that already in the 2000 years since Christianity's birth? And doesn't it demean the Faith of Christianity to say that it's just a tool to cause physical miracles? It seems to me that if it can gather nearly half the world's population under it's name 2000 years later, that is a WAY bigger miracle than predicting a bridge collapse within 3 weeks.
So no, I wouldn't believe simply because some "miracle" was done. My requirements for faith are way higher than that.

The Bible's timetable has already been disproven. The Earth is 4.6 billion years old, not 6000. So if by some insanely lucky coincidence you could predict some future event using the Bible, it would still be a wash next to all the errors its made.
Sorry you don't understand Science. Take a look around you, everything, your computer, your tv, electric power, your car, your clothes, your food, has been produced via the efforts of scientists. If science were bogus, then none of that would have happened. We trust science because science WORKS. Sometimes it uses a model that turns out to be wrong, but science also corrects itself, its always changing. Religion is stale, static, and always the same, and most likely always wrong.

Your mother/sister/daughter is sick. Pray for her. Don't take her to the Doctor; God will take care of her. The doctor is a scientist. He/she may even be an atheist. Steer clear of the clinics, for all medical practitioners can do is make educated guesses.
This sounds like you're scenario. I only hope that some day you gain enough maturity to regret asking this question.

Well, that depends. If it could be manipulated in someway by Man then no. Otherwise, if a major event were to occur that was amazingly accurate and the Bible portrait it in literal terms then I would have a reason to start believing.

Indoctrination...glad to know you'll be one that's led by the nose.
On a less 'disappointed in you' note, science is discovering and contextualizing history, myths, and religion more and more everyday. Statements like yours above let me know that change is happening. You inately feel it so your fervor and willingness to be lead because it's safe is growing. There are a lot of people who feel the way you do. The rest of us are waking up as to what life really is. We are waking up to see what our place/potential/goals can be. And we are waking up and realizing that this leadership system is becoming antiquated as per the amount of knowledge that we are gaining everyday.
More and more God will change because of science - always has and always will.

Lets put it this way i would no more believe than i would a fortune teller, or Cupid arriving with his bow and arrows. I need to see concrete evidence before i believe anything. I'm too much of a down to earth person to believe in fantasy stories. Seeing is believing i say.

Considering that much of the Bible was written in Hebrew, which, if anyone has studied anything about it, is an extremely mystical language in and of itself...no. I'd hang it on the Jewish belief that Hebrew is a living, breathing language that does its own thing whether you want it to or not.

First off God is not real, just a figure of your imagination.
Second of all you should research the Mayans, because their practices of math were so accurate that they predicted the end of the world will happen on December 23rd 2012.
So ow that you know, will you continue to believe in a fictional character?

More fool you. Although I'm not a Christian I have studied Christianity-it's theology, doctrines and beliefs-and I would not touch it with the the proverbial barge pole. It is a disaster for this planet that such a fatally flawed system of belief has such a hold over so many people.

The bible is the greatest story ever told. that's right, a STORY! I believe Jesus walked this earth and he preached kindness and treat unto others, etc. Science is the proof of every thing that the bible says didn't happen.
