I recently got my fourth tattoo but my girlfriend went mental. Aparently she doesn't like tattoo's (which is strange because I had three when I met her). I want to get another one but I know she will have a fit. Should I do it or not?

I agree that tattooing is addictive.

If it's gods body why did he give it a dodgy pancreas? If I have to suffer due to his shoddy workmanship then I should at least have the right to draw pictures on it.

If I'm old and in a care home with my shirt off exposing my tattoos, I hearby give you permission to shoot me. I'm sure I won't be exposing my body too much when I'm seventy years old.

You already had 3 when you met her so she should know that there could possibly be more in the future. I'm a firm believer in an adult being able to make their own decisions. It's your body, you're paying for it, and she's NOT your Momma. I don't mean any disrespect toward your girlfriend. But I refuse to be with someone who can't or won't accept my personal choices of hair style, tatts (I have 4) what I wear etc...

Hmmm... well I guess thats up to you. How much of a hassle will it cause in your relationship? And is the tattoo you have in mind, just because you want it, or something you are desperate for (i.e as a memorial one or something?)...

I just recently had my first one, and I love them personally, my chap is covered in them, although to be honest, he has hundreds so I have put the block on any more - but thats just a practical one, as he has no room left!

Tattoos are a waste of money... Whilst they might look alright nw, think about the fact that they'll not look good when you get old. Why not do something special with the money together instead!

If you feel the need to have more tattoos - get it. On the other hand, if you feel the need to keep THAT girlfriend, don't.

In the end, you can always get more tattoos and/or more girlfriends, so it really doesn't matter.

Do you plan to spend the rest of your life with her? "Girlfriend" says you've been with some for 1 week or 10 years. Depends on how serious the relationship is & how much her feelings matter to you.

No, you're body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. (Read 1 Corinthians 6:19) Someone else who answered said, "it is your body." NO it's not YOUR body....it's God's body. This is the truth and i respect your wishes if you don't believe this. You just asked a question and this is my opinion.

She new who you were when she met you and continued to see you. I don't see how she could try and restrict you from pursuing your own interests.
Why the big taboo with tattoos?
It might be worth talking to her and explaining how you feel. Of course you have to be sympathetic to her feelings, but at the end of the day, it has to be your own choice.

I think you should have one if you really, really want one.But I know if I were your girlfriend a small nice one would be OK but I would hate huge sprawling spiders webs and that sort of thing, so I guess for me it depends on what it is and where it is.

She obviously knew you liked tattoos when you first started dating, I think she is trying to test you and control you.

Tell her this is who you are, who you were when you first started dating and you haven't changed, you getting another tattoo doesn't mean you love her any less but it's something you enjoy and it doesn't do any harm.
