It makes it hard for getting a job so I am looking into some things that would make me more ealily hard. I am trying to avoid just a microphone because I don't want to sound like a robot.
Thank You

Thank you for all your responses. Many of you gave me techniques to make me sound louder, but the problem is I have things preventing me from speaking loud, so it just doesn't matter what I do. Keep those responses coming!

You are right! Can you imagine taking a microphone to a job interview? I would suggest, if you feel you have the means, a voice coach. they can teach you to project. or take a public speaking class. good luck.

You could learn voice control through singing, theater, or radio/TV announcing.

Community theater is a good place to start because it can help you learn to project your voice without amplification and to speak or sing loudly in front of a room full of strangers. Also, if you are going on job interviews it can be helpful to rehearse the things you might say. Just like in theater, the better you know your "material" the more confidently you will be able to speak and the more people will like you.

One exercise you can do is to read some previously unknown material into a voice recorder while the sound of a loud fan is in the background. Play the difficult to understand recording and try to find patterns in your speech that may affect how clearly you are understood. A forthright friend might help you by listening with an objective ear and helping you to recognize the patterns. You should then work on correcting these patterns.

How about hanging around old folks who are hard of hearing? This can certainly encourage you to speak louder and more clearly. Try a volunteer job at a retirement center or a nursing home. Plus, old folks are not often shy. They've outlived many of their friends and family members so there is just no one that can tell them how to behave! So their great confidence can be wonderfully contagious!

speak from the diaphragm. it's all about breath control. the more breath you expel while you're speaking, the louder it'll be. practice speaking louder in front of a mirror. take a speech class at your local community college.

Try to speak slow and clear. That way people will hear you better. It is not necessary to speak loud when you speak clearly.

Tape your own voice. Listen to it. Try talking louder, and listen again. If you can't hear yourself, on one can.
You control your own destiny by practicing. Tape and listen and change as you see it fit.
good luck.
