About 30%, I would say.

Good question. It's probably not as high as I would think, but I'm guessing it's high...say 40% possibly.

I personally do not and will NOT go up to a woman and try and strike up a conversation. It's not being rejected, it's HOW she does the rejecting. I'm not a homely guy, and I'm nice, polite and am pretty respectful with people in general.

Back at this point in time I gave this a lot of thought and tried a lot of different approaches. Talked to my female friends about this to make sure I wasn't projecting something I wasn't aware of, or anything like that. I didn't approach anyone from behind, or otherwise take them by surprise in any way. I smiled, tried to come up with something kind of funny, or a nice way to open a 'talk'.

95%+ of the time I was given these sh!tty, snotty responses that were really not called for. There was really no reason for them to be rude. And I tried this numerous times when I found myself back in the dating pool again. The other 5% of the time the women were polite and kind when they said 'no'. Fine, I can deal with that, but the unnecessary rudeness? No!

So, when I finally had enough abuse I called it quits and have never, nor will ever go up to a woman and try and strike up a conversation with them.

I can understand if a guy comes up to you and is a total jerk...then fine. I'd say go for the throat, or claw his balls off, but not to someone that obviously thinks enough of you to come up to you, trying to be polite and nice, and doing his best to meet someone.

And then I will hear over and over ------ "why can't I meet any nice guys?".

25%, in my opinion are too shy, so "some" are...but the most are not. It might be hard for some of them to do, but they muster up the courage sooner or later.
