first things to do! go to your nearest Police Dept. in your town, city etc.....and join the local Police Dept. Explorers program...that a very good start...you can try, state, federal also...
from 14 yrs to 16 yrs of age...after you graduate, you will have a very good chance that they will sponsor and pay for your academy too.....or go to College for 2 years, pay yourself and then apply to your local Police Dept.
but the explorer way is the fastest and sure way!

It depends on what police department you are applying for. Different departments have different standards and steps for applying. It depends to on how many positions are available. The smaller departments usually do not have many positions open and getting in may take longer whereas larger metropolitan departments are begging for people. I lived in the Washington DC area; they are desperate for officers. Go to the department you are interested in; you can usually get an application or information. You can also get information and may be able to apply online. In the meantime start getting yourself in shape if you havent already done so. I just went through a training academy for law enforcement and it was no picnic. Also many people think you have to have a degree to become a police officer. This is not true. While you will be given preference and go up the promotional ladder easier it is not a requirement. Good luck!!!

Go to colledge for a year or so and major in criminlogy, and social science, You must have a degree in mathamatics, and Go to the local police and take a Tab test or State testing, and then apply for the police Academy, But that what i had to go through before i applied to the academy i had to get my degree in math

You need to understand that a war is going on the police vs the rest of us. To be a copper you have to view yourself as all powerful and all knowing. You would have to learn to beat people while your follow cops hold them down. You will have to trade in all your caring and loving, or you will never make it.

Learn your civil rights, it will come in handy when you start violating them
Build up your team player skills. You'll cover for your buddies violations, and must likewise return the favors
