Yes and no. Yes in that they refer to the power and omnipresence that God is. No, in that the term 'Universe' expresses an aspect to God that is familiar in Metaphysics or the practical application of knowing God as an aspect of yourself

Depends on how you define "god". Some people do define it that way.
Personally, I think that if you want to say the two are the same thing, you should just use the word "universe" and be done with it.

No. The Universe created God, who now further creates the Universe.
If this topic interests you , you will find entirely logical explanations about God and the Universe, and of our place in it, in "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website. It is an eye opener.

You are very insistent to depersonalize God.. No, God is an intelligent being. He would have to be to handle the job of creation. You have to explain a scientific necessity for life called Chirality. Without it life can't start and the DNA molecule is too complex for Chirality to have just happened.... Jim

Not many questions here hit the nail squarely on the head but that statement does. Nothing exists outwith God.

D&C 76: 24
24 That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God.
God created our universe.
D&C 88:68 Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will.
God created us in his image. He is literally the father of our spirits, just like our earthly father is the father of our bodies. God has a perfect, resurrected body. His plan for us is to come to this earth to be tested, and hopefully, someday become like Him.
