Until tender.......About 20-25 minutes. Also would depend on the size of cubes or you made.

it depends on where you are higher altitude it takes longer. but the rule of thumb is that you boil then until you can spear one with a fork and it will slide off or is soft. the soft one will give you a more fluffy mashed potato but if you like them thick than let them go a little longer and it will give the starches more time to concentrate and that's how you can get mashed potatoes that will hold upside down in a bowl (heavy cream and butter don't hurt either)

If you have cut the potatoes into smaller cubes it should take about 20 minutes but just test with a fork and you will know when they are done and ready for mashing.

I did this by accident, when trying to make stuffed bake potatoes.
Get gold potatoes (I used 2 large ones for me and a hungry man).
Wash the potatoes and rub all over in salt.
Bake for an hour.
Peel the skin off and mash with a fork.
Add your ingredients.

Boil them until you can take one out and mash it with a fork. I can't give you an exact time because of differences in appliances and ammounts of potatoes.

I boil my potatoes until they are very tender, test by sticking a knife into them. Then I drain , While very hot , add butter, salt, pepper and the milk you like.
Then mash until creamy and smooth.
I've tried half and half, whole milk, 2% and skim. But my favorite is canned condenced carnation milk. To me it makes them taste much better.

Boil them till they are soft.
If you can stick a fork into them without resistance, they are done.
