It hurts, it's a rather sharp burning sensation, but fortunately it doesn't last long. Apply ice on the sting location to prevent swelling. If you have a known allergy, or if you experience rapid swelling & difficulty breathing after a sting, get to a hospital right away... otherwise, the pain should be gone within a few minutes.

I guess it depends where you get stung. I was stung on the inside of my ear by a wasp. It hurt a lot and took some time for the swelling to go down. I have been stung on the arm, leg, back and that doesn't hurt nearly as much.

More than a Bee sting, but, less than a Snake bite!
It hurts, I mean, you will know you been stung. It will hurt for about 15-30 the most and then be sore. Depending, you my swell in the area of the Sting. It nothing you can't handle. I never take anything, but, maybe a Double Dose of Tylenol or Ibuprofen would help. After I learned not to be Afraid I not get Stung.

Well I got stung by a Mountain Wasp on the head. It didn't hurt very bad or anything. A Yellow Jacket hurts worser though. It swells for a few days or so. I didn't if it was red or not.

quite a lot very uncomfortable but the pain is tolerable like a bad localised sun-burn, after a day or two the pain diminishes but is replaced by itching

I am only talking about black and yellow german wasps, other wasps might be worse or better

I have been stung by a small australian wasp and the pain lasts only an hour or so (then itching).

Honeybees have a worse sting in my opinion, and bumble bees are even worse, I have never been stung by hornets but I hear they are pretty bad

When I got stung from one, I forgot the number one rule: to stand still. I just tried to scare it off with a shoo of my hand, like for a fly. When I got stung, it was a quick, sharp sensation. It didn't hurt much later, except when I stretched my arm, it was as if I didn't have enough flexibility for it. About 3 hours later of just not extending my arm, I was fine, and got my "flexibility" again.

It hurts a little worse than a bee. Like getting a shot. Only the pain lasts a little longer. Just use some meat tenderizer on the area and it will feel better in a few short minutes.

pretty bad , It may cause the area to swell and become red . Most people take a benadryl to help ease the pain and swelling however if the swelling continues and the reddens continues to spread go to the nearest er you may be having a reaction to the sting.
