I think the best thing that has happened is COLOR. White as a wedding color is a relitivale new thing around the end of Victorias rein. During the rennisanse waring white was a sign of extream mouning. Most women in history were married in color. I wanted a dress with color but none of the dress shops in my area had any thing beyond rum pink and pink looks horrid on me. So i wore Ivory.

I would say something form fitting, mermaid style is
the new trend if looking for contemporary, also a shorter
dress seems the in. Full blown dresses are on the way out
and trust me unless you are doing the whole Catholic Church thing are on the way. Suggestion does Mom still
have hers, sometimes you can revamp them.

Something beautiful, simple, and classic. You want the bride to wear the dress- not the dress wear the bride.

That has nothing to do with what style you should choose. The style you choose should suit your body type, and your personality. There's no possible way for anyone to answer your question.
