It might be a good place to look, but the best place to buy is a camera store. The people who work at camera stores are the most knowledgeable about cameras. They will give you the best support after you buy too. That's important, isn't it? The guys at those big chain stores won't care about any problems you might be having with your camera, or why your pictures aren't coming out the way you want them to. Camera store salespersons will know all about photography. They will know if blur is caused by motion, focus, dirty lens or wrong aperture setting just by looking. You won't get that kind of personal service at Best Buy or any of those other places. They will also be better able to match you with the right camera.

Computers are Best Buy's big thing. They may have a few digital cameras there but I still think you should go to Circuit City. They have hundreds of digital cameras. May I suggest a few good brands? Hewlett Packard, Harmon Cardon and JVC. I had a much older JVC camera from Circuit City and it still works today although it's on it's way to wearing out. So I have had that camera for almost 19 years now. Also, Harmon Kardons are extremely nice. My friend bought one for $300.00 off the original $1,000 price. So after all this I suggest Circuit City because they have great quality cameras and so much more. They have every feature you could possibly think of. Enjoy your new camera.

It's a nice place to window-shop for digital cameras, but not necessarily to purchase them--you might get a better deal online (though watch out for disreputable websites that offer too-good-to-be true deals, a VERY common thing with the digital camera market).
But going to chain stores like Best Buy is a good way to see what one actually looks and feels like in your hands, and test some of their features. And the brands they stock tend to be major brands with good reputations, so I doubt you'll find a "bad digital camera that takes blurry pictures" there...if you do wind up taking blurry pictures, usually it's not a deficiency with the camera itself.

Best Buy is a good place to start looking for your new camera. I purchased my digital camera from Target. The personnal at Target was way more knowledgeable and willing to help me select my camera. I bought about 4 years ago and still have no complaints about it. It is a Canon A60. Somewhat outdated by today's standards but more than performs for me. Good Luck with your search.

Best buy and circuit city are good places to go to see a lot of different cameras. Figure out which one you want and buy it online, you can usually beat their prices.

Only go there if you KNOW what you are looking for and if you KNOW how to use it. You may get a good price, but you generally do not encounter staff how can advise you or help you learn how to use your new camera.
I apologize to the rare Best Buy camera department clerk who actually knows what they are talking about.

I have discovered that one of the best websites to get a digital camera online is at Amazon.com. You know you can trust them as the world's largest online shop and they have the A to Z Guarantee to cover all your purchases.
Amazon has a huge assortment of Digital Cameras and they sell everything from cheap varieties to luxury professional digital slr cameras at amazing prices so you should discover something that fits your personal budget.
Look into Amazon's huge choice of digital cameras at http://amzn.to/Amazon-Camera-Store
Getting digital cameras from some store online or a random ebay seller that you have actually never ever heard of is really high-risk. Even if you do get what you paid for would you trust them with your credit card info. You understand with Amazon it will be amongst the least expensive online and you can trust them.
Good luck

Good a place as any but you might want to compare prices with WalMart to see if you can get the camera you pick out cheaper there.

Walmart is usually a great place to look and has big name brands and the prices are reasonably cheap. but when another place has rebates and sales, the prices may drop below the walmart price. check the sunday news advertisements or go to their websites to check prices to see if you wanna go there

Target has a huge selection now, too. And they are cheaper than BB.
Fry's, too, and they have a credit card available.
