Hey The Mobius Trip,

Impossible to answer. Great thought. I can prove links with DNA to Egypt. But, so could a billion other people on earth. If you mean who has documentation, and absolute proof, then it would have to be someone with DNA proof, because of the possibility of a 'milkman' in the family tree, not known about. DNA rules that out. I can prove back to William the Conquorer with DNA and records. Beyond that it gets sketchy.

No real good answer.

Actually scientists have found links from people tens of thousands of years ago in connection to several living people from around the world today and that is with the same ancestor! I was watching about it on the Science Channel a few years ago.

I bet some of the old Kings and Emperors have a proven ancestry to royals that are alive now. Not being a king/emperor kind of fan I don't know their names but I am sure others can follow this clue and get specific.

Is this that theory where it states that all human beings living at this point in time could (theoretically) be traced back to a single ancient ancestor?
It is interesting... I'd like to read more about that...

Mate, I believe you're speaking of Cheddar Man's relative, Adrian Targett.

Cheddar Man was was discovered in Gough's Cave in 1903.

9000 years apart, linked by DNA from Cheddar Man's tooth in 1997 and Adrian is still living in the area.

Cheers,

pup

"Proven" depends. Most of us Americans & Europeans who've been doing genealogy for 4 - 5 years can get to Charlemagne, and from him you can get to Adam. It is a paper trail, not a DNA one.

My DNA goes back to a guy whose band walked out of Africa 40,000 years ago, give or take 20,000 years. We don't know his name, though.

Check out the National Geographics project Genographics at https://www3.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/index.html.

It traces the human journey across the planet from the original humans in Africa. It might answer your question.

Cheers

There are alot of people that can trace ancestry to Atilla the Hun, too.
