My first attempt to do the task you are asking about, resulted in utter failure, which bummed me totally as there was much effort put into the project. However,I found a solution, and that is to run a bead of kitchen/bath silicon along the top and bottom of the backside of the borer. Thin beads of silicone, damp sponge to apply border smoothly. Good luck.

I have border above all three of my showers with no problem, make sure the border is vinyl, and I always use wallpaper paste on the border above the showers, then I keep a tube of seam glue which comes in a tube, if the border starts to come loose, just moisten border with a sponge and apply the seam glue to the wall and press the border down and hold for a few seconds and wipe off any excess glue.

My decorator says of course, you should border the whole rm., never just part. And you should us something called 'border adhesive' you can purchase in a paint store. Necessary esp. for bathrms. I think borders are a little passe'. I would rather have crown molding.

That depends of the border. I've had good and bad results. I finally decided to go with stencils instead.

It depends what the paper is made of and the adhesive that is used. Check in the dept of Bed, Bath and Beyond,Lowe's or Home Depot and ask which ones u can use.
