I wouldn't see why not.
And not all energy is currently measurable by science--Jung proves this neatly. There is no measurement for mental energy, which we all have to varying degrees...and in the case of God, there is certaibly no measurement for spiritual energy.
Back to the questioner...I'm rereading Dion Fortune's The Mystical Qabalah right now, and I think you'd rather like it. Much along these same lines. It's out there in .pdf format somewhere...

As per Tantra and Shakta philosophy of Hinduism, the eternal Energy manifested the Universe.
But the definition of their energy is a little different from science
Shakta believe this Energy to be self-conscious, and for her bliss creates the universe
They worship this Eternal Energy (Adi Shakti) as Mother !!
Tantra goes a step farther and tells that this Energy too is will power of the Supreme Consciousness called GOD
So Energy is in fact God in action, and God is with its energy unmanifested

all the above answers are true from their point of relativity. GOD created everything out of himself,everything is litterally GOD. or more accuretly a holograph of the aspects of his vision of himself. I personally like to think of GOD as pure conscious energy. although i have sensed he is even more ethereal than the vibration that thought is carried upon.

this is how i percieve God
the energy that we come from and the energy that we return to
i see God like the sun that gives off solar flares , we are sparks of that energy
