For instance: KDL-26s2000E vs. KDL-26s2000K, etc. What is the diference of these two models? I just assume it has to do with the audio or other standards in different countries in the world. Is that so?

From what I can tell, the letter does correlate with a particular region of the world--the E is sold in the UK and some parts of Europe, the K in Russia, Ukraine, and other Eastern European countries. ("U" appears to be the code for the US, when it's given). This is probably a naming scheme unique to Sony and won't necessarily apply to other brands.

Since both the E and K regions use PAL, I would guess that there isn't anything functionally different between them--you could probably buy one in one region and use it in the other. The naming scheme is probably more important to Sony in terms of marketing data, factories, sources of components, and that sort of stuff.
