I would imagine they are trying to compliment you on your skills at being able to speak some of their language and are trying to encourage you to learn more and use it more.
Far from being worried about it, you should be flattered. If they wanted to be nasty I am sure they could say that they would rather you spoke to them in English!

because it's still rare to see a foreigner who can speak Japanese. It is a difficult language to master, so you do have a rare talent. Second generation Japanese are kind of expected to speak the language so it's not considered a 'real' accomplishment. If you plan to stay in the city where you live now, then there's nothing you can do, but if you want to make use of your skills, relocating might be worth considering.

How do you understand it became an interior interest? it is continuously lots much less annoying to blame and criticise the individuals than the Islamics it variety of feels. I extremely have heard a similar stuff approximately how 7-7 in London became an interior interest - confident, shall we blame the evil British and individuals lower back extremely than the oh so amazing Muslims. they could in no way extremely harm all of us could they! those conspiracy theorists ought to bypass out on the streets and hear what those Muslims are saying approximately us and then maybe they could recognize that they could fortunately bomb the US and uk. they are actual not so harmless and staggering! while you're British or American you should heavily think again your loyalties and remember which edge you're on by way of fact those amazing Muslims could think of not something of removing you in case you have been walking by using London or long island. they could be praising Allah for weeks afterwards like they did after 9-11 and 7-7! Conspiracy theorists are far extra risky than any government interior the Western international.

If a a Japanese business man is telling you that. It is the ultimate compliment. It also means that they think you have potential to be successful in Japanese business. I would explore your options outside the area you live like they are telling you. If you are working in a restaurant then they are just being polite. Either way I would hook up w/ a company that will let you teach english in Japan. Besides in Japan it's status symbol for Japanese women to have an American boyfriend.

For someone that thinks "what does it matter", you sure do seem to take their comments to heart.
Just get over it. People *are* going to have their own opinions, after all, but it's not like you can't move from a city to one where Japanese-speakers are needed.
