As long as the color schemes match, can i use a tie-up roman shade on one window, and regular drape panels on the other 3 windows?

The problem is that my living room has 4 windows, ALL of which are completely different sizes! I found drapes with a matching roman shade from Waverly so i'm assuming it will work...

Of course it is. You must do it the way you like it. I have heard of this too. Just don't ask your mother-in-law if she likes it. lol

As long as you use something to tie them all together color or texture wise. I think it would be fine. It would be very interesting. If you can find some small piece of fabric that matches and put it on some pillows, or even get fabric glue or iron on glue and put the same pillow fabric on all of the drapes or make the tie backs out of it, then glue a small strip of it on the bottom of the Roman shade. Hope I am not confusing you. I really think it's fine without that, but for about 5.00 you could make it look like you planned the whole thing. The real trick is finding the right fabric and getting it on sale. What fun, I love to solve decorating puzzles and think you have solved one!

That is definitely ok to mix and match. It actually draws your eye around you room, and doesnt make the windows seem so bland and untouched. It gives it that look that people know you took time to dress up your windows, and it shows with your pulling in different styles throughout the room.

Mixing different styles (while done correctly within the color scheme, etc) is a great way to keep things interesting.

Sense the windows are a different size it shouldn't matter as long as the color scheme matches.

Yes. It can be a great way to treat different size windows or to separate and define a space in a multi-use room (example = living/dinning combination). Ultimately if it's your home and if you wish to do that, you should, regardless of perceived decorating rules.

I wouldn't do that but it should be ok as long as they have the same color scheme.
