After yesterday's grueling operational exercise, I decided to treat myself to chips and salsa today... I'm relaxing with generic chips and Tostitos medium salsa now but the salsa is rather disappointing, not spicy at all. Tastes a bit like pasta sauce to me. I cannot imagine that there's actually a variety of it which is even milder than this.

Thanks to all so far. Tostitos by the way is the only salsa I've ever seen anywhere - looks like in my country, Mexican food isn't very popular. I've never seen any Mexican eateries except Taco Bell as well.

Make your own!
A tin of chopped tomatoes,
half a medium onion chopped as fine as you like,
Coriander leaves chopped and Cumin to taste
Add chilli powder to the heat you like.
Costs less than the jar stuff

It's ok when you're in a hurry or a last minute choice, but it's nothing like homemade, with all fresh ingredients.
Maybe you'd like the hot kind better, It would have more flavor.
If you have hot sauce on hand, try adding a little to the salsa you already have, I usuall add my touches to canned and jar food.

All jarred salsas are cooked so how CAN they taste fresh like in a restaurant? You can buy great chips. But you can MAKE salsa in 5 minutes. Try making your own and you can control the heat.

Ack! I want i'd desire to offer you the call yet i'm out ideal now. All i can do is describe the jar. it rather is a narrower glass jar, and beginning approximately mid-way up (in basic terms previous the label), the glass starts narrowing and the glass gets ridges. it may well be l. a. Victoria, yet i'm uncertain. yet are not getting the Safeway sort salsa. Yuck. that's totally very candy, no longer salsa-y.

Home made is ALWAYS better than store bought, but since I have little time for home making, I choose the "Pace" products. Or if they have it, I will buy the "Old El Paso" Never tried the "Tostitos" brand and probably never will.

Store-bought salsa sucks. Homemade is so much better but time consuming as all hell.
There's nothing worse when you just want to relax and have a snack and it sucks.

Get the salsa from the deli section, not the stuff in jars.

Store-bought salsa doesn't even compare to homemade salsa. I agree store-bought salsa is disappointing! =(

Depends on where you live. Here in San Antonio, some of the local brands are fantastic. Nothing, however beats homemade.
