I don't know if there is a homemade way to use lemons to lighten your hair, but I have some stuff I got for $5.00 at Target that lightened my light brown hair and it looks pretty! It's by John Frieda, it's the line called Beach Blonde, and it's called "Lemon Lights." It's basically hair gel stuff with pieces of lemon in it. You put it in your dry or damp hair and go out in the sun for the day, and it will lighten your hair. Smells good too. :) Good luck!

I'm not sure if the lemon would work on naturally brown hair but it might if your hair is REALLY light brown. What I read was that you have to put the lemon in your hair and lay out in the sun for 5 hours (yes five) for it to actually work and it's probably better to do it during the summer or when its really sunny.

No, it wont be a funny color. Lemons are known to highlight the hair. If you put lemon juice on your hair, then go sit in the sun, itll lighten it. Its the citric acid in the lemon juice. Kinda works like a bleach.

It would probably turn it orange. I used to put streaks in my hair with lemon juice in the 80's and I have medium-dark brown hair. I used it a few times out in the sun and it eventually turned somewhat blonde. Mostly orange. I wouldnt recommend it. I would say get a professional to do it the first time if you dont want to fry your hair.

I used to do that in High school, well Lemon juice. It lightened my hair. But, now when i look back at pictures....it wasn't the best thing. My hair was orange, like peroxide was used or Sun-in.
BUT if you are wanting to do it, maybe just try using it on strands/sections, in stead of all over. I would recommend using store bought color/high lighter or a professional. Just my opinion! Good luck!

They can add highlights to your hair if done in the sun, you can also water down hydrogen peroxide to make your hair blonde but it can go bad if your brown haired and it really does dry out and damage your hair. You really should either buy something that is made do hair coloring or get it done professionally.

The acid in the lemons lightens your hair with heat - like when your in the sun...

The best way is to add hydrogen peroxide to your shampoo - it's really inexpensive, and its at any store.

YES!! But you have to quarter about 50 of them and eat everything but the peeling in one sitting. It can't be mixed with nothing. You will probably walk around with that puckered look on your face for a few days. Then you have to do it again then you will have blond hair. You have the redneck guarantee. We always find the cheapest ways to do anything.
