It is very worrisome. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values, under cover of front organizations like the Christian Coalition, the American Family Association and the Promise Keepers. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. See: JESUS CAMP http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/jesuscamp/trailer/ Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans.
By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

It terrifies me.
Sadly, many people who want to turn America into a Christian theocracy are too blinded by this ambition to actually see what a threat this poses. They are gleefully cheering about the downfall of the Taliban, but they don't see that they are simply helping the Taliban take power in America--only under a different religion.
I know many Christians who are opposed to implementing Biblical law. They know that having a theocracy is a dangerous thing.
After all, the Christian who doesn't realize the dangers of a Christian government is oblivious to the notion that when a form of Christianity takes over that doesn't agree with him, then he finds himself as much of an outlaw as the atheists and the Muslims and the Jews. It only takes a subtle shift in power before the government would suddenly outlaw dancing or force people to attend church EVERY night. Suddenly, the theocracy these Christians supported could turn out to be their oppressors.

Then it would be a stable question to ask how those suitable 10 worldwide places grew to grow to be the suited 10 and whether it replaced into bearing directly to them being a theocracy. the only present day theocracies are Iran, Vatican city, Tibet (annexed by making use of China), and the united states of a, the place God comes to a decision whilst human beings circulate to conflict. ok, the final one is sarcastic, yet you in all possibility get that none of those worldwide places is in the suited 10, economically. as quickly as we glance at religiosity, the united states of a is the large exception in an prolonged checklist of wealthy, non-non secular, worldwide places. however the degree that all human beings shares in that wealth is somewhat low.

THREAT of a theocracy? When every president had been Christian and only 11% of the public says they would even consider an atheist for public office, I'd say we're well past the threat stage. And don't get me started on all the ways people are scrambling to codify moral ideas that are particular to Christianity, like all the marriage and sex laws. I'm still a bit upset that they put their god on my money, to tell the truth (maybe that's why I always use a debit card).

A theocracy is a perversion of religion that must be stopped, because it is easily the most corruptible form of Government around (believe me I know, I live in the Philippines and our damn clergy here act like idiotic politicians, yet few criticize them or their crazy notions precisely cause they're clergy. Its defacto theocracy really).
Theocracy doesnt bother me, it terrifies and disgusts me. And the mere fact that there are people like Maurice H who think theocracy is a good thing means that this threat is REAL.
Good luck trying to get rid of your theocracy threat...

I doubt a christian theocracy would be any better than an islamic theocracy.
As for the rumor of a "concentration camp", we already know the US has secret prisons. If such a concentration camp exists, don't you think you or someone should provide evidence for such before you accept it?

Makes me scared to death and mad as hell. I don't believe concentration camp stories, though. I know a conspiracy-theory guy who swears the camps are for Christians.
But, the day Christians start running the country is the day I head for the nearest Swedish embassy for asylum.

Religion should not run our government. Government is established by God (the triune God) to keep order in a world of sinners. God's law is in our hearts and minds. We deep down know right from wrong. Making the U.S. a Christian nation will not bring peace. It will only bring more chaos. Utopian ideology exists in Christianity and it needs to be repented of.

The Real Fight is between GOD and satan.
Human Beings are in the Middle of all of this.
But most of us don't know it.
GOD Loves all Human Beings and wants them Saved.
Devil hates all Human Beings and wants them to stay Damned.
Devil canl't get back to Heaven.
Human Beings can.
I am Learning about this Organization.
Only Jesus can come back and TAKE OVER.
JESUS didn't tell us to Take over the World, HE told us to GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD and tell them the Gospel-----they can be Saved through Jesus's Death on the Cross------Jesus will Take-Over when HE comes back----then there will be PEACE on the EARTH for 1000 YEARS----not Violence.

A theocracy where everyone belives in Christ would be a good thing; the world would be much better if everyone believed in Christ.
Matthew 16 :25-For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mark 8:35-For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
Mark 8:36-For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Luke 17:33-Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
