Every recipe for conventional lasagna I've seen calls for the noodles to be pre-cooked.

An interesting alternative is skillet lasagna. Not as pretty, but the same taste. Much faster and no pre-cooking.

If you use regular lasagna noodles, they do have to be cooked, but they do sell the kind now that you can just bake. Make sure to read the package carefully.

There are lasagna noodles that don't have to be cooked first, but I found that they made a starchy tasting lasagna. I'll cook mine.

In the majority of recipes they do have to be cooked. Unless the recipe specifies not to. Be sure to use ricotta and not cottage cheese. You will enjoy the taste a lot more. Mix in one egg with the ricotta before spreading on the lasagna. I'm Italian and love cooking Italian food.

no, just add more water to your sauce and cook your lasagna a little lower temp. and a little longer, and it will be just the same.

If you put the cheese right against the noodles, it will be gooey, so I put a little sauce in between on both sides, so the cheese don't stick with the noodles.

That depends on the type of noodles you buy. They do sell noodles that you just run under hot water and place in the pan. They are called no boil noodles. Unless you use these then yes you have to boil the noodles first.

NO they don't. You need to add more sauce to provide more liquid in it, and it takes just a bit longer to cook, but it works very well. I saw Emeril do it that way, and I haven't cooked the noodles first since!

No, you can put them right in. They cook while the lasagna is baking.

Yes. However, there are products available to save you that step.
I have one in my pantry called ''oven ready lasagne'' which doesn't require boiling. You just put in in the pan along with the other ingredients. And it tastes fine.
