I don't think they have modern names.
It like renaming the biblical deities.

Pagans use traditional names.
The Sumerian names were Apsu(sun) and Kingu(moon).
Alot of modern pagans call the moon by her Greek and roman names. Artemis or Diana. Luna.
The sun gets called Ra although this is incorrect.
Apollo is another common name for the sun.
The moon is the main Goddess image. We dont actually worship the sun or moon, dispite common ignorance of xians.
The moon is more a representation of Feminine energy. The 28 day cycle of waxing and waning is attached to the menstrual cycle.

Your question is unclear. There are many, many names for sun and moon deities. They are not part of two seperate religions. The worship of the sun and moon - or more accurately, the generative and compassionate powers ascribed to these energies - is very ancient and powerful. It's still powerful.

I went outside last night and communed with the wonderful Harvest Moon - magnificent. But I'm not worshiping the Earth's satellite. I held ritual with myself and the power of lunar energy as a cyclical female force.

For me, it *is* the truth - the truth I've found over years of both practical work and study. The truths of others don't interest me overmuch.

Hmm, i am not exactly sure, what they are named today, would mostl likely change in different cultures. But they are still being worshiped just like they always have since the beggining of time.
Deity means= god or goddess

And being sun and moon is a form of "Pantheism = God is everything and everything is God" this is where special reverence or worship is ascribed to creation. The bible does not teach this, it clearly states that he is seperate from his creation, though present at the same time, likened to the presence of Shakespear in all of his plays, he is present in al plays, but is not the actual play itself

The bible clearly states that any form of worship to the created object other than the creator is Idolatry" and not a good thing at all.

In your response to religions stating that they have "truth", this is in some respect true,, most religions carry in them elements of truth, but this does not make them all right.

I can only think of one person or deity that himself claimed to be "the way the truth and the life" and God , and then willingly died and rose again to back up his statement.

all the best.

for the searching, and open minded...

the pagans used to worship the sun,and called it the "venerable day of the sun" and the emporers used to get their treasury payments on that day, thats why the catholics tried changing God's Sabbath Day to sunday. to bring the pagans into church(baptized paganism) can you see it in their churches?
