New house, tile counters, very simple, Hoosier cabinet, simple range, dishwasher and fridge (energy star) and curtains under the counters. Huge island (homemade and tiled) with wooden floors. Dishes in an antique cupboard. Love it and everyone is confused about the age of the house. A real success for me. I like a contemporary/transitional look with the country slant.

I keep my kitchen simple and easy to clean. I have vinyl wallpaper that wipes clean easily, and sheet linoleum. Kitchen carpet is the pits, I've had that before and dont recommend it. It doesnt matter what your theme will be, the best thing is to make your kitchen an easy comfortable place.
