Have you heard of the Yom Kippur war in 1973, Israel vs a coalition of Arab nations....Egypt, Syria and Jordan. That was worse than the current situation.....it didn't raise a blip on the world war scenario (not that it didn't have the potention as a spark)...just relegated to the heap of regional conflicts between rump states. When the strategic super powers square off into two camps, then come back and we'll talk world war.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, and brinksmanship.... After the next world war, we'll be back into the stone age and you won't have to worry whether a world war occurred or not.

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask has the third world war started?, you are asking are we committing global suicide? My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

I don't understand why someone would think a police action like what we have been seeing for the last few years is a war? Islam may have declared war on us and Israel but they are so weak and minute that it can't even be considered a war. All I see is bad guys blowing up something and that is no where near a war. We call it here in the USA a war on crime when people get out of hand and have to be brought back to order.

I believe what we are seeing is just simply organized crime. Nothing more.

I highly dislike it when people blame a certain individual for something, like, "It's all Bush's fault." What evidence do you have? Do you know everything he does? I'm not defending him or anyone else, but rather than make ignorant, bold statements, we ought to try to look at topics objectively, answering the question.

I personally think that WW III has started, just not the black-and-white, good-and-evil scale seen in the first two. Back then, everything was so plain, so simple. But now, with several religions involved, several regions, third-world countries and super-powers, WW III will be interesting.

It does not look good for the US and in turn the world. What you need to start thinking about is are you ready for what is coming. Don't be stuck in the Katrina mentality start thinking ahead. Water, food, and ammunition. If you own land and you are in a state not over run by illegals and minorities you might just survive this to help rebuild the US. My grandchildren will be there, we have already taken the steps to secure our family come hell or high water.

Decades ago. When the Muslim Brotherhood made it's first attack on western interests. It is just escalating now. Soon, Armageddon and Jesus will return. Only then will the world be at peace. Oh, by the way, Armageddon is NOT the end of the world, just a big war in the Middle East, where the Islamists get their butts kicked good.

We are not quite there yet. We are very, very close. It wouldn't take much more to put the world at war. America is getting a very bad rap right now. I can see why for some reasons.

Has France surrendered yet. That is the fool-proof way to know a war is underway.
