I thought just struck me earlier while I was meditating on a prayer. It's more popularly known as the prayer of Jabez. I read a book about it and how it has create wonders that changed the world.

I was reminded of a particular movie I once saw for my theology class. I dont remember the title, but it had the tag line, "BUILD IT AND IT WILL COME" and that's exactly what Im doing now.

I enjoy doing volunteer/charity work in orphanages and homes for the elderly whenever i can, but since I belong to a third world nation, funding has always been my problem. I have some friends from the US who help me out, and Im just wondering if there will be others who are willing to help, in their own little way.

We dont really have public libraries here and I was thinking of starting up a children's library and I would need (old) book donations.
Would there be caring people out there who'd be willing to help me out?

i understand your direction and blessing upon your goal that the lord has placed in your heart. this may sound unusual, but contact Oprah show. they may know the community outreaches or book club directions that can help collect books for you, contact salvation army for unsold books that their thrift store get to send your way. even ask the feed the children if they go to your area on ways they can help gather books for you. even habitat for humanities has thrift stores that get books to sell. what they don't sale they can give. get a world wide thrift store list to see if they can even help. which 3nd world country are you? there is a teenagers book collecting organization that collects old books for other countries and he is even trying to start small low cost schools in that area. saw him on Oprah also. just a few thoughts. i wish i could collect books for you. because i know that many thrift store destroy the books and other supplies they don't sale that is still reusable and i hate seeing destroyed people may need.

Ask people you know to try putting collection boxes (neatly wrapped and labeled) around their town. They can ask businesses, schools, churches, clubs, and social groups to donate books in these boxes.
