I don't know what the legal rate is for the UK, but I believe it is most likely like the US which is .08. I just checked with the website below, the legal limit is 80 milligrams in 100 milliliters of blood.

if the level is 0.55 the intoxilizer picked up a massive amount of alcohol in your body, if the result was a .055 (intox results normally read .three digits) then you were actually under the legal limit, however, in the event that you're one of these people that with one beer or drink, can still experience loss over mental faculties, then you can still be convicted of DWI, and you can most certainly be charged of the offense, the statute only states that if the officer believes that you are not in total sound mental state to operate vehicles, it does not state that you even have to be over the legal limit.

Your dead

You must mean .055 because .08 is impared, .1 is drunk and .4 will usually cause death. So, I think a person would die before 0.55 blood/alcohol could be reached.

You've got legal troubles. Why are you asking Yahoo? Are you as big of an idiot as we are? Call a lawyer, you cheap dumbass.

a breathalyser test conducted at the roadside which is positive for alcohol only gives police power to arrest and take back to the station where subject would be placed on a more sophisticated machine (called a EBM, Evidential Breathalyser Machine) which gives an accurate reading of alcohol in your system. the legal limit is 0.35mg/cc if your under .40mg/cc you will not be charged. service policy for the metropolitan police says that between .40 and .50 you will be given the option of having a Doctor take a blood sample for analysis. over .50 and you are automatically charged.

I think it means there was something wrong with the breathalizer. Someone with a blood alcohol level of 0.55 would be incapable of blowing into the machine.

If you took a breath test and the result was positive, you would not be allowed to continue on your journey driving your car. Instead, you would have to accompany the fuzz to the police house to explain [hic] why you, elo, elo, elo, was hinebriatered.

0.55 would mean you're dead. Highest I've seen was just over 0.3, a fully functioning alcoholic. Was able to converse, read, write, walk, and stand. Imagine his liver!

IF your BAC is .55 that means your blood alcohol level is over 55% alcohol and you are dead.
