Right i have been asked to do a powerpoint on reasons why people cant make it to a church home group. Can you think of any?

Could you please note the excuse and how you could overcome that problem. i.e car broke down could be overcome by getting a lift or something like that. Thanks

Okay, but I could think of many more reasons why a person SHOULD and COULD make it to a "home group".

1) Too busy
2) Too tired
3) Too shy
4) Hurt feelings
5) Don't like the leader
6) Don't like the music
7) Don't like the lessons
8) Don't agree with the home group's philosophy/doctrine
9) Afraid of what might happen
10) Wrong night of the week

1) Give them reasons why it is worth it. Incentive always works better than punishment.
2) Tell them you understand and that God is definitely not legalistic. If they are truly exhausted tell them to stay home and come another week when not so tired.
3) Show them the love of Jesus and encourage them with other reasons to attend
4) Tell them no one is perfect, not even Christians. Talk about forgiveness and the need for "not forsaking the assembling of"
5) Maybe you can change the home group assignment
6) Consider variations in music or encourage the person to expand their musical horizons
7) Tell them a new lesson plan will come along soon
8) Find out why and see if you can logically reason with them
9) Make them feel secure of acceptance, love, and healing
10) Assign them to a different home group that meets another night or change the night so that everyone can attend

The most effective means of assuring attendance at church home groups is intercession (prayer) for the attendance at the groups as well as all other facets.

Ministries become truly effective and anointed by God's Spirit with determined intercession (prayer).

1) illness - chronic or otherwise: only solution is for sufferer to get well
2) week schedule simply won;t permit it (like nightshift workers; nurses; mothers with several small children) - solution: provide child care at home church
3) no transport (includes no car. can't drive): provide bus service
