it started after i put norton antivirus on it and now i cant do anything on it!!

Press the F8 key when you turn on the Laptop select safe mode. You will be told that you are in safemode etc. Don't worry. Go into control panel and then to add/remove programs and un-install it.
If you need to wipe it most Laptops have a restore CD or hidden partition with the original base build. Look in the manual

hit either the F8 key or the F12 key to take you to the BIOS menu.
look for th boot order and change it so the cd drive is the first.
place the recovery cd in the drive and restart.
it should boot from the disk and wipe the system clean.
after that it will install the software back to the beginning

GO INTO CMOS CHANGE THE BOOT OPTION TO BOOT FROM CD.
PUT WIN CD AND REBOOT WHEN UP AND RUNNING REMOVE NORTONS .

when you have re installed windows try using zone alarm for your firewall and avg for antivirus ....they are both free and excellent ...far superior to Norton .......and wont cause problems !!
