Psalm 11:5 tells us "Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one,and anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates.
If you want to please our Heavenly Father you would stay away from violent movies, video games etc.

If we watch those types of movies enough, we do become desensitized to evil so it often no longer bothers us. God calls that hardening our hearts. We also have a tendency to become what we think. IF we dwell on these things, it becomes easier to do evil and that is why we are told not to let profane things enter our eyes.

I USE to be hooked on porno. I would love to go back before that time and not every go to any of those links but that is history. I still have to place myself under subjection to keep those thoughts out of my mind. Everyone else I know that had this problem in the past tells me the same thing. That is why we practice Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Most can not do this without a relationship with God....see the link below...

Yes, the majority of movies have content which is abominable to my personal beliefs, which are a part of my religious beliefs. However, many followers of my religion have no problem with watching any legal movies. I do not watch movies which glorify violence, immoral sex, or other immorality. It is my personal belief that such movies do have the effect of desensitizing a person to immorality.

I don't believe violence and pain of others should be entertaining, for Christians anyway, though movies that use violence maturely are definately important (like Schindler's List). But I'm kind of a whimp about watching violence anyway.

I'd be more curious what people think about The Passion of the Christ and their religious beliefs. Is it entertainment?

I used to able to watch scary movies with no problem, but as I've grown as a Christian those movies have started to bother me. I have dreams about them and can't get them out of my system. I think as a Christian you are just better off not watching movies like that. Plus, I don' know if God is pleased with that.

Yes, what goes in will eventually come out!! It is human nature to emulate what we see and hear! That is why parents don't want their kids being exposed to that garbage! All of those kids who kill at school usually play violent video games!! When will parents learn?

I've never seen it, but I do like watching people get injured, mutilated, maimed, and killed. It's sad to say but the first time I saw the World Trade centers fall the first thing that went through my mind was "Cool". I think the same thing when I watch a nuclear mushroom cloud.
