yeah, what with medical cards, wic program and lord knows how many more gimme programs and the allowance it is a good steady full time job.
however you'll get some wild little monsters who need a good butt kicking but are only catered to.if you can put up with the phoney crap the state wants from you and not rock the boat it's ok.

Some people are just one minded. These are the same people who assume that everyone behind the counter of a fast food restaurant above the age of 20 are High School drop outs, That all janitors are Mexican and here illegally, and that the food they get in most restaurants are laden in spit. Generally they feel that they are better than the people that they interact with and their opinions cannot be changed. However, confronting the school or the teacher directly will not help the situation. In fact it will only make matters worse. The best thing that you can do is to prove her wrong. Take an active interest in the school in some degree. Join the PTA or volunteer to head a committee or even just help at school functions. Doing this will show that teacher that you are more than just a temp parent and that you really do care about the children you help.

You should foster a child because you care about children - not the money.
My aunt was an emergency foster mom for many years. That meant they called her when they needed someplace for the children to go to until they could get them into permanent foster homes or back with a family member. That meant many a telephone call at 3:00 a.m.
You have to be dedicated to doing something like this, not just in it for the money. Which by the way, is pittance.

You would really take children in just for the cash? That's sick! You're supposed to do it to help the child because you feel led to help other people who are less fortunate. Not just as poor! And no the gov't doesn't pay good. In Michigan, foster parents only get about $35 to spend per child for Christmas gifts depending on their age!
I really hope you don't do it for the money. That's usually the kind of homes where children get abused in the system. I'd rather they go to a state funded home than be with somebody who has them "for the cash"!

If you are asking this question. You already have shown you are unfit to have such a job. But, since you asked, NO, they give you some money but not a lot. People become foster parents because they want to HELP a child not get rich. Shame on you for even thinking this.

Wow another person that will add to the number of children that will grow up with severe mental illness. Most foster parents are monsters, from what I have heard from adults that grew up in their care.

IF your a slim bag dirt bag, I guess you could make money off this. But if you treat this child like you should (like there your own) then you should put that money towards the child's well being. Should you be doing everything wright and you still have money left over, then you should put that money away for them for collage, grad gift, first home, trust...... get my drift.
Take care of the children, PLEASE!!!

Just by the question alone you shouldn't even THINK about becoming a foster parent. Children aren't financial money resources. Go find a second or third or fourth job, don't screw with some poor kid whose life has been a living hell anyway!!!!

I'm guessing by your tone that you are NOT the one who is trying to take in a whole bunch of foster children. Whatever your issue is with that person, I hope you get it resolved in the best interests of the kids.

Usually up to states Department of Family and Children's Services. I'd recommend against it for you. This is not a monetary gain type of deal but one of loving and caring for others.
