Sounds like you need it. Just go to A&E and they can get someone to assess you from there.

What would be the point? If you wanted to come into hospital then there would be no point in sectioning you. You can go into a mental hospital on a voluntary informal basis but you would have to convince a psychiatrist that you really needed it. Most psychiatric treatment now takes place in the community, very few people require time in hospital.

well in scotland nearly all mentally health wards are closing down so it will be a h.i.t.t who will come to you house once a day in forth valley scotland there are now only 2 ward left they what to keep you in the community so hospital they come to your house to assess you sasha5b

You can want it all you like, doesn't mean you'll get it!
Usually you need two GPs to commit someone, and unless there's very good reason, decided by them, not you, they won't do it... obviously.

If it for yourself suggest you see your GP tell him you are feeling suicidal and he shoudl do something - they did for my friend. Good luck - it is hard getting help today
