I want to become fluent in portuguese very fast ( 1 year)! wat can I do? wat can I buy?? If u have any info HELP!!!( not brazilian portuguese)

you need to become totally immersed in the language.. surroud yourself with people who speak it..
if that's not an option then here's what I'd do if I was you.. get the pimsleur audio series on portuguese and convert the entire thing to MP3.. then get a small MP3 player like an ipod Shuffle.. load the entire audio series on your ipod and take it with you wherever you go.. keep it plugged in to one ear at all times, so you're constantly hearing portuguese.. when nobody's listening, practice saying what you are hearing.. if you listen to it 24-7 like that, it might be enough for you to learn it in a year..

I know that this will sound strange, but the fastest way to learn a language is to go to the country where it is spoken ALONE, and live there for a year or more on your own, mixing with the people and learning the language out of necessity.

besides buying movies, music, dictionary, books, magazines etc. I have to say Berlitz school of languages is the best !!! If you don't have one near, go to an adult learning center or a college near you to get in to a class...
