Can a person be depressed and not feel depressed? I am very irritated all the time, moody, feel uncomforatable around people, can stop clenching my teeth, and have been diagnosed with depression in the past, I drink alot of alcohol about once every 3 weeks to ease my mind and feel ok around other people.

If you were previously diagnosed with depression then you probably still are. Not all meds cause suicidal idiations. See your Dr., preferably a psychiatrist for treatment. Anyone who tells you not to take meds has not done their research & is a fool. All meds affect people differently. I can assure you, not receiving treatment will definatly be more detrimental to you then not.

There's no simple explanation for why people experience depression. It's a complex disease that may develop for a variety of reasons. It can affect anyone at any age, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or income level.
Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood
Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness
Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed more>>

i suffer from some of the same symptoms- but i'm not sure that i'm depressed- i think i'm just a bit moody. DO NOT go onto depressions tablets though- they will make you even worse. one of the side effects of using depression tablets is...depression- oh, and suicidal thoughts.

Sounds like it to me. But drinking won't make it go away. See a doctor and get on antidepressants. This will make you feel stable again

Sounds like it to me, why don't you see a doctor for a check up, find out if it is something else, which it could be then if needed see a head doctor.
