Get the designs done in henna first at least they wont be permanent and you will realise what a mistake you've made before its too late.

Tattoos are a great art form and I've seen some really lovely ones. But, rethink getting them when you are legally old enough. They're not a passing fad, they're permanent.

The finger tattoos sound like a really bad idea. You can't cover them up if you change your mind about it later (unless you want to wear gloves forever). Do you want to say "fire at will" for the rest of your life??

I like the star on the wrist idea, but the neck tattoo may be a bit much (also depends on what it is).

When you're finally legal, start with something small and wear it for a month or two before getting another. Getting the tattoo on a fleshier part of your body will hurt less also. Make sure you go to reputable tattooist as well. They can advise you on what's best.

I have a large lotus flower on my neck and I love it. My only regret is that I don't see it enough. I think it's a beautiful place for a tattoo.
Each wrist is tattooed as well- a bird on one and an insect on the other- very delicate and very pretty. Keep in mind that a lot of people have stars on their wrists, though.
I personally think your "fire at will" idea is cute. It could affect jobs, though. Maybe consider going into music promotion or production, IT or another field where funky dress and tattoos aren't a problem. I work in audio and I am free to dress and look how I want and I LOVE it.
You do need to realise that you'll grow up and out of certain things, however. I'm 27 and I'm still a proud freak, but you never know if you'll grow out of it or not.
Lastly, DON'T get anything on your belly or anyplace that might get a bit fluffy as you'll get older. You'll end up with a nasty streched out mess instead of the beautiful tattoo you started with. Make SURE you find a good artist and CHECK HIS/HER WORK!!
Tell your sister you're not retarded, just creative. Have fun with it.

I love tattoos but, I think neck tattoos (unless they are on the back of the neck) look ugly. Letters on your fingers usually means you've been to prison. The tiny star sounds cut though, and would easily be covered up with a watch for work (most employers don't smile upon visible tattoos).

I know it is difficult to think about what kind of work you want to do when you get older, but it is important to project yourself into the future and see if a neck tattoo and 'fire at will' on your fingers will be a turn-on or turn-off at interviews. I love tattoos, and have one on the outside of my wrist and another one on my shoulder. But I can cover up the one on my wrist with a watch or bracelet if I need to. The star you want could be covered up as well. but the fingers - well unless you wear gloves you can't. If you want to join the army then I say go ahead and get those tattoos, but I recommend thinking a lot about getting them (and joining the army, which I don't recommend).

Tattoos are a personal thing, so if you want one or more when you're old enough and have thought it through, go for it. But, like Julz H said, the places you've mentioned are really prominent on your body and for the rest of your life people will see these. If you get them when you're 18 you'll probably have to look at them for at least 50 years. And that includes you, your employer, EVERYONE. I have to agree with earlier posts that "Fire At Will" might not help you with future jobs.

Before I got my tattoo, a friend of mine gave me this advice - draw a picture of what you want your tattoo(s) to look like. Put the picture on your mirror so you see it everyday. Leave it there for a month. If, after a month, you still are excited about it then get it. If you get bored of looking at it, its not right for you.

the small star on your wrist sounds fine, and maybe after doing the star think about the one on your neck, but the ones on your fingers is something that I wouldnt do. i think that as you grow up and grow out of your "tattoo" phase you will be sorry that you had them placed there in such a visible spot. think long and hard about it, if need be talk to someone who has already been though it and see what they have to say.

Just a suggestion but why don't you get a small one thats not visible to everybody.I see alot of people get tattoos they don't ever get finished because they can't take the pain. And just so you know, the wrist is one of the most painful areas to tattoo, and hardest.

you really have to think where you are putting them because when its on you can't really get rid of it. Laser but think about it that leaves a scar.I wouldn't get on the fingers because its your hands. Neck good and wrist.Think about the finger tho.
