Of course cell phones should be allowed in college - but they shouldn't be used or on in a classroom/lecture hall. They interrupt and distract the professor. Students should not also get up and leave the classroom to answer a call in the classroom - it disrupts the learning envirnment. Texting is a less intrusive communication method in the classroom - but is rude - but should not be band. I think you win this argument if you come up with a more reasonable argument that not only answers what you really want and minimizies the harm to the other party. Besides does anyone really want to ban cellphones and then have to enforce such a silly rule?

because you're an individual and the concept a company might want to set an arbitrary rule denying you the skill to apply a familiar commercial product that has valid use for verbal change throughout more suitable than some academic, social, and emergency makes use of is insane. Courtesy for sure calls for that they be grew to develop into off in practise and the library.

I think no while college is the place to concentrate in studies and when people have cellphones near by they always play with it and not concentrate in the classes.

Ofcourse they should be allowed but to some extent.Students should not be restricted from bringing cell phones but they must be prohibited from using them in the class and seminars.
Cell phones are really useful in case of emergencies, which means there is no guarantee that we won't be having any emergency while we r in the class.
