programmes like add remove programme, security option, add remove hardwarefrom control panel. also i am unable to go to the properties of my computer, internet explorer, network places etc.

Just go for a complete system scan using AVG antispyware available 4 free of download at www.ewido.net
Install AVG antispyware -> update the definitions ->run complete scan-> delete all bugs/errors found in scan.

Hey i think creating a new winodws user account should fix this problem. Maybe some files are corrupted. This might happen if u have a virus, bug or did an update.

It already happened to me a month ago, but not now. It is because I have installed one 256MB memory module on my motherboard. I think it is the computer's memory which is not letting you do them.
