Catholics believe:
Mortal sin is a grave infraction of the law of God that destroys the divine life in the soul of the sinner (sanctifying grace), constituting a turn away from God. For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must be present: grave matter, full knowledge of the evil of the act, and full consent of the will.
Venial sin is a sin which does not destroy the divine life in the soul, as does mortal sin, though it diminishes and wounds it. Venial sin is the failure to observe necessary moderation, in lesser matters of the moral law, or in grave matters acting without full knowledge or complete consent.
But continual venial sin can slowly but surely totally separate you from God, placing you into the state of mortal sin.
With love in Christ.

Where no law, no transgression: Romans 4:15
When no law, no sin is imputed: Romans 5:13
In Christ (is the end of the law) there is no sin.
And in the end already written, there is no law.
So then what sin would you be talking about?
The only sin I could imagine would be law imputed. And if law imputed it would sinners all by the curse of the law, none righteous, no, not one. And if God is one, it would make God a sinner. And if we all are one it would make us all sinners worthy of the death sting of law imputed sin; Unless we all are one flushed law and made a clean wipe of it, since even a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump, kinda like a little cancer, if not removed in time, can and will spread, and eventually kill the whole body, including the head of the body.
To wit: that God was in Christ "reconciling" the world.
So why do ppl say that God was alienating the world?
And why do ppl keep law imputing sin and death for the hell of it? Don't they know a stone thrown in a pond ripples to every shore, perhaps with law worketh wrath?
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

A sin is a sin is a sin. They are all measured as equally bad, no matter what they might be. God will not look upon sin or the sinner. But there is one sin that He will not forgive....
Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
That is nothing to be taken lightly, but more often than not, it is. Especially here on Yahoo Answers.

If your thought, words and deed causes pain to you or others, now or in future to mind or body, it is SIN.
Taking food more than your stomach digest contain two sins. You harm your body and you have taken some others' food.
Big small are relative term.
In the above example it depends on how much you take.

perfect!!
sin is the transgression of the law of god
if u deeply think about the activites that v r performing daily, u ll notice dat v r doing nothing sin n sometimes u notice dat each n every step v r springing forward is sin!
i ll tell u in my expirience:
i had a intense thought of smoking ...i began to think abt it...whether i can smoke or not...but slowly i found dat smoking is not a sin!
so all other activities like murder, rape, etc.....n d people who does dis..neva think dat they r committing sin!
so it depends on the thoughts u give to ur activity. sometimes it is very difficult to judge wat is rite n wat is wrong

TO God sin is sin, But sinning against the holy Ghost will be the worst one to do, you can not be forgiven for that. But now if you are wanting the worst sin for their punishment of how long they will burn in the lake of fire before they are annialated, I would say, someone like a child molester or a murderer. But That is my opinon, & not God's,
