Hi. If you stick to the recommended amount of units per week (14 for a woman - 21 units for a man), you should be ok. Too much alcohol will dry out the skin and make it pasty.
This is because alcohol in excess causes dehydration.
A poor diet would also affect the skin. You need plenty of fruit and vegetables and make sure you drink 2 litres of still water a day. If you cant manage the vegetables and are relying on processed food, I would take a good multivitamin/mineral supplement.

One of the major consequences of alcohol abuse is liver damage. When the liver is damaged much of the waste in the body are not eliminated. The impact of this is normaly seen through a condition called spider nevi, which is red areas on the skin that look like spider. Another consequence is dehdration which can cause blotchy skin, mainly redened and purple areas. A decrease in thiamine can also cause nerve damage, which if close to the surface of the skin can apear as white spots. All of these are reversable in the early stages by eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and cutting down on alcohol consumption. Thiamine supplements can also assist and prevent permanant brain damage.

Most definately! If you eat rubbish food/drink your skin will reflect this.
I know you've probably heard it before but, drinking plently of water really does help keep your skin clear. Also eating plently of fruit and veg will give you a natural, healthy glow.
With regards to alcohol, the more you drink the more you body screams out for water! So when you do have a topple, ensure you drink a pint of water, say, every hour to keep well hydrated.
Hope this helps.

Your body deals with toxins in different ways. If the body is under stress from a very poor diet it will eventually start to release the toxins through the skin.

Most people say there is nothing that can help because its not a certain fruit or veggie that makes hair and nails stronger it is the make ups of those foods so try a balanced diet and proper nutriton.

that's nonsense. there has been no real proof that what you eat affects your skin condition. its like saying chocolate gives you spots...that's rubbish. unless you allergic or intolerant of an ingredient, then sure. but spots is mainly an hormonal thing.
