bitches in season do bleed everywhere, but you don't put nappies on them?!!!! You just have to wipe it up I'm afraid or she'll clean it up herself

It's basic biology.

This is the time when a b**ch is most likely to conceive. Domestic dogs come into season (or on heat) about every six months. Wild dogs and wolves ovulate about every twelve months.

They do bleed but not excessively and usually keep themselves clean. You can buy 'nappies' to avoid any soiling of bedding or carpets.

A b**ch that has been spayed does not come into season as she has had her womb and ovaries surgically removed so she is infertile.

A b**ch is only interested in mating on a couple of days during her season when she is at her most fertile stage. This is probably the time that she is really 'on heat' as she will attempt to escape in order to seek a mate.

Generally a b**ch will not tolerate male dogs at any other time. This is different to the male who is willing to mate at any opportunity.

There is nothing strange about this - as I said it is basic biology. All female mammals have a fertile period and all males are programmed to mate with fertile females.

Were you asleep during this particular biology lesson?

yes they do bleed my friend and grans dog were on heat and they bled its not messy at all which i used to think, but you have to be carefull as this is the time when male dogs start hanging around and the female wants to escape, otherwise expect puppys lol.Just keep her in they have a period for about 3 weeks, after that its every 6 months. You can buy nappies for them as well my friend was on about getting them but she didnt bother you can get them in all well known pet shops.

***** dogs do menstruate
and you can buy dog pampers to stop them spotting on floors or if you purchase a dog cage during menstruation they can be in there most breeders use this technique

not strange if you respect your home and dog if they did not menstruate they could not have pups
