For the last 23 years of the life of the prophet, beginning at age forty, Muhammad reported receiving revelations from God delivered through the angel Gabriel in the cave of a mountain.

The significance of information was not one time touched by the messenger (Muhammad, saws) he was illiterate and lacked confidence to abtain it; nor could he not read or write . This is why the teachings of Islam is so miraculous to the people who believe in it memorize it passionately.

The content of these revelations, known as the Qur'an, was memorized by his followers and compiled into a single volume shortly after the prophets death.

The Qur'an, along with the details of Muhammad’s life as recounted by his biographers and his contemporaries, forms the basis of Islamic doctrine.

Presently it is 'written' by humans in the printing business. Earlier, it was a Divine Message, which took 23 years to complete, sent by Allah through a Courier named ArchAngel Gabrael. As and when a message, short or long was revealed to the recipient Holy Prophet, it was announced or preached to the Prophet's audience. Immediately it was memorised. And those who could, recorded that in writing. When the Divine Message had been completed, it was arranged in a Book-form, which remains unaltered, to this day; because, Allah has promised to keep it preserved and unaltered. It continues to be memorised, something exclusive to Muslims. Hundreds of thousands memorisers live today, mostly nonArabs, another amazing fact about the Holy Quran! That those Muslims who do not know Arabic are able to memorise the entire Book. The style of expressions in this Book is unique, unlike any other book, sacred or holy. That is another amazement.

First off, that would be the Qur'an and would most likely have been written by Muhammad
However this depends on what part of the Qur'an you are meaning, cause like the Holy Bible it has parts from the Torah aswell as the Holy Bible (Im not sure about the Qur'an's context, however but they do have similar beliefs).
I cant help you with an exact date but wiki says around 620CE

The Quran or koran as it is pronounced in english was written by the false prophet mohammed about 600 A.D. Mohammed claimed that he was a descendent of Ishmael a son of Abraham. He spoke alot of rhetoric that he says was quoeted to him by the angel Gabriel. The same angel that announced Jesus Christ's birth and Jesus Christ's death. Does God contradict himself? If Gabriel was a liar he would not be in the presence of God. Since Gabriel talks about Jesus Christ almost 600 years before Islam was even thought of there is only one other angel that could have told Mohammed the crazy rhetoric of the Koran. Lucifer himself. Lucifer was the highest angel in heaven until his fall. Lucifer is the Devil if you don't know.
