who designed the Art Nouveau entrances to the metro? &why r yellow roses planted between wine rows?

The stations were designed by Hector Guimard who was born in 1867 and died in 1942. There are only two of his original station entrances left, one at Abbesses and the second at Port Dauphine. The one at Port Dauphine was moved from Hotel de Ville in 1970 (I think)
Roses are planted between rows of vines as they are a natural deterrent to several pests that attack vine plants.
