Isn't it true that, other than taking a scripture and "interpruting" it as alluding to Jesus being God the bible never directly says Jesus is God. Unless I missed something. Help me out here, I'd like to know. Thanks

Praise the Lord! God isn't going to point blank say anywhere that Jesus is God because he isn't.Jesus is the only begotten son of God.
This is the trick from Satan to keep the world blinded from the truth and it is the truth that sets us free. You didn't miss a thing and evidently you are searching the scriptures which is a good thing because that is what Jesus said to do......search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life but they are they that testify of me.Believe it or not you are testifying of Jesus with this question.Keep up the good work.

Nowhere in the bible does it say that Jesus is anything other than God's firstborn. His only begotten first-born son. The only person created exclusively by God alone. Before any of the other angelic spirit creatures. I tihnk that some Born again christians believe that jesus is god. read the Apostle Paul's letetr to the Phillipian congregation chapter 2 verses 5,6

God is Jesus Father who lives in heaven. God said that Jesus was His son.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

What more do you need? maybe some faith In God and in Jesus perhaps?

In Matthews Gospel he asks the disciples who they think he is. Most say prophet but Peter says that Jesus is the son of the true god. Then Jesus says Peter, "You are the rock on which I will build my church"

That's about as close as I can make it.

Jesus never spoke about himself being the Almighty God. Jesus was created. He is called "the firstborn of all creation," for he was God's first creation.(Colossians 1:15) Jesus said in the Bible at John 14:28 "The Father is greater than I am." Jehovah God did not have a beginning and He will always exist. "Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God." (Psalm 90:2)

As far as I know Jesus never said he was God. I can quote some of the verses of Bible in which Jesus point out that he is not the God.

"My Father is Greater than I" (The Bible,John 14:28)

"My Father is Greater than all" (The Bible,John 10:29)

"..... I cast out devils by the spirit of God" (The Bible,Mathew 12:28)

"....with the finger of God cast out devils...." (The Bible, Luke 11:20)

And Bible mentions the prophetic nature of Jesus's mission in the following verses

".... and the words which you hear is not my but my father's which has sent me." (The Bible, John 14:24)

" And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true god, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent" (The Bible, John 17:3)

I hope it answers the question.

1. by claiming to be equal with God Jesus claimed to be God. The Jews understood this, and more than once sought to stone Him because they thought He blasphemed. (John 5:15-18)

Other places where Jesus equated himself with God:
Jesus told the Jews, "I and the Father are one." (Jn 10:24-38)
Jesus told the disciples, "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am." (Jn 13:13)
Jesus forgave sins, which only God had the authority to do (Mk 2:5-11, Lk 5:20-24)
Jesus said that he had seen Abraham and that he is eternal: "'I tell you the truth,' Jesus answered, 'before Abraham was born, I am!'" (Jn 8:57-58)
Jesus said that he had seen God, which no one else could do (Jn 6:46)

2. His disciples understood Jesus plainly when He claimed to be God.

3. Jesus never claimed to be "just a man", or an angel, or a rabbi.

No, and no. Jesus is not the one and only true God.
