Simply because people are like a load of sheep, Magners is so over priced and over rated, it is no better than Strongbow. The best cider I've had is Thatcher's, available at Tesco's, it doesn't have a chemical taste and is very appley.

Easy...
Everyone has forgotten those heady days as a skint teenager where £1.50 would buy you a big bottle of cheap cider (If you all clubbed in obviously you'd get a mixture of stock, maddog 20/20 and cider!) to get rat arsed.
Thanks to some clever advertising from Magners people are simply revisiting old hunting grounds - Also partly thanks to english cider tasting shite (OE, Strongbow, Woodpecker)

Personally tho I prefer BULMERS... far nicer but still overpriced!

Aren't fads brilliant (HIC!)

Everyone? What's Magner's Cider? I've seen exactly one pub in a town of 800,000 and all they serve are ales. Of course, that would be here on the left coast of the USA where 'everyone' who's anyone lives.

It's because my mate Robin from Sheldon in Birmingham really likes the stuff. Due to Robin being such a popular figure around Sheldon, this increased sales of the cider in this area. In turn this has spread nation wide and increased the price at the same time.

In my local club it is £2 a bottle,I've tried it,I think its not a bad drink,a little "poppy" for me,I do think that it's overpriced,it's more like a little lads drink compared to my usual strong bitter,I think that most people are buying it due to good advertising and a good publicity agency

I would rather drink a bottle of vinegar than cider any day. Give me a pint of Fosters.

You're right, it is huuuugely overpriced. But it *is* a nice pint.

Its just one of those "trendy" things. People will get over it soon and move onto another over-priced drink.
