Realise that it's a 50/50 chance he will say no, and deal with it. Give it a shot, what have you got to lose? Unless you've been obsessing and fantasizing about the wedding, getting a "no" isn't the end of the world.
Some guys don't like girls to do the asking, others like it because it takes the stress off them.
If he says no, just smile and say, "OK, your loss" and move on. Act like it never happened. If you can accept it he may change his mind later on and ask you!

Good on ya. Go for it. If he says no take it as a no big deal dont act any different or hurt. Theres plenty of other guys out there that would love to have you. Remeber its not the end of the world and theres a lot worse things than facing him. dDont feel humiliated by the situation then he might make fun of you. Good luck.

Take it easy. Think the positive side. If the answer is No then just be friends. It no big deal asking someone out. If it a Yes then hope you two have a great time...

Id ask him casually as a friend to go ut for a drink or something and see how the evening goes, if he wants it to be more than friends, unless he is shy something may happen. Or if you ask him out and he says no, just act like it hasnt bothered you and carry on as normal.

I wouldn't take the attitude "well i didn't really want you anyway", it was just a joke kind of thing, it just shows that your ego is bruised. just act normal around him though it may take a few weeks til you can look him properly in the face again. Just act cool and wait fot the next fella to come along

if he says no, u have to be cool about it... i know it can be embarssing havin to face him since he'll know ur feelings for him, but u jus face as if it doesnt botha u sooner or l8r he'll realise what he missed out on or u will find some1 else better....if it was meant to be he'll say yes if not he'll say no u jus gotta go with ur instict and whateva happens...theres plenty more fish in the sea...cliche isnt it? goodluck put it across as hanging out rather than a date unless u've known him for some time...

Love is the answer to everything. All you ever need is love,
communication and understanding. That's what I figured out so
far. If you are down, you need to get up and start doing something with
your life. Don't need to be shy, be straight forward and allways say what
you want and expect from the others.

Do what my ex did.He invited me for a drink after work with His well ugly mate. Then it`s not really a date, but sort of is.Anyways I said I would. He was talking all night to some other guy all night while I was talking to the gooner geek.Yeah, but then it all tailed off,and the rest is history. From then on we were g/f b/f,engaged,married,kids......Point is save face ask Your mate to go for a drink (probably better be no comp. for You!) too, then ask Him casually along too.

The easiest way to ask someone out is to not put yourself on the line to be rejected in the first place.
Make it casual,

'hey im going out weekend, what are you doing?'
'oh youre staying in alone'
'well would you like to come along'

'im going out weekend, what are you doing?'
'Im going out with my wife'
'oh'
