Alternatively there is the Bakerloo line - Paddington to Waterloo costs £3

It depends on the time of travelling but expect to pay around £10-£15 during day time (For up to 5 people, and there are no extra charges for luggage).
If you want to pay with credit card you must inform the driver before the trip begins (not all cabs accept credit cards).

Depends on the traffic once I caught one from Paddington to St Johns Wood and it cost 40 quid, just leave 1/2 hour earlier and use the tube
