Assuming you mean your 2005 tax return that was filed in 2006.......

You may still be able to check the status of your refund online at:
"Where's my refund" http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html

Some things to consider:

If you signed up for direct deposit of your refund, they do not send notification when it is deposited into your bank account. Is it possible that you missed the deposit?

If you signed up for direct deposit & made a mistake on the bank information, i.e. the account number, it could have been deposited into someone else's account. If this happened you probably are out of luck because you provided the account information & told them to put it there. The bank will only release account info to account owners. So.....check the copy of your return & make sure this didn't happen. (If you need a copy of your return): http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc156.html

Hope you track your $$ down.

Since your 2006 tax is not due until January 1, 2007, my suggestion is to wait a bit longer.

Since you have not yet filed your "2006" tax return......you can't expect the IRS to issue a refund. However, if you are asking about your "2005" refund, then go to the IRS website for: "Where's My Refund" http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html

I would be extremely upset for one! Its a bit late in the year for that. I recieved mine One week after filing. Of course I do my own on Turbo tax on the web. A child could follow that program. Anyway...you contact www.Irs.com where is my refund. Put the amount in you were sapose to recieve. They will tell you when it was disbursed. Or..they will give you a number to contact if there was a problem. Which, by you not getting it by now, there should be a problem. If you had owed anything, in collection or any bills. The goverment can take your refund to pay debts. "But" they have to notify you by a letter that your refund was used to pay the debt. So if you didn't get a letter, and you do not owe any outstanding debts. Where is my refund? Is where you want to go!
