They are still in your hard disk if you have not add something to its original patition. The system modified their file procedures and waitting for other imformations to cover them. So it is possible to get them back before they were covered. You can use some DOS programs to do it( I'm sorry, I can't remember their names).

When you keep the "Shift" key pressed while deleting a file, the file will be permanently removed from disk. Its entry in the file allocation table is simply destroyed. You MIGHT restore the file using a special program (like "Lost and Found"), but no one guarantees you will get the file back and/or unaltered.
If you want to be able to restore a file, simply delete it, without pressing the "Shift" key (it goes to "Recycle Bin" from where you can restore it).

shift+delete will permently delete the file.....
it can only be retrieved by costly software...such data recovery software.
or u can find free software on data recovery...norton data recovery software.

when u use shift+del, ur files r removed from the comp. so it isnt possible to get that file back

it goes to SYSTEM recycle folder which we cannot view when u use PC security u can find it
