Keeping them outside when the temperature drops below 28 F (-2 C) could cause them to explode, especially if the temperature stays that way for more than a few hours.

During the winter months, if possible, your pop should find safe haven in an unheated garage. As long as they're not near any doors, windows, or open points to the outside, your garage, even unheated, will keep the cans insulated against extreme cold, weather, and sudden temperature change.

If the temperature regularly stays below 10 F, you may want to consider moving the cans inside. But if it's below freezing at night, and above during the day, you should have no problems.
